Among many internal fine tunings and optimizing code, it has now been fully integrated with Wordpress' own user-system.

Just a few minutes ago, I released a new version of the LinkLaunder WordPress Plugin.

Among many internal fine tunings and optimizing code, it has now been fully integrated with WordPress’ own user-system.

This means that when you sign up as a user here at LinkLaunder.com, you are also signing up as a beta-tester and as a forum-user. This is one of the things that is so amazing with WordPress, you can modify it extensively.

All old user are already automatically upgraded. No need to sign up again, your e-mail and password you originally have signed up for, will be immediately created as a WordPress user here on this blog.

As a member, you will have access to the Member page, where there will be internal news and links to the statistics for your blog(s).

The plugin itself, version 0.88, contain a lot of optimization, the update has focused on improving speed, communication with the core server, and a few security changes.

I hope you will like the new version.

Comments, suggestions and ideas are much welcomed. Leave a message here, or visit the forum to talk to the other users.

We have a lot of plans for the LinkLaunder system, and we would like to tell you about some of them.

We have a lot of plans for the LinkLaunder system, and we would like to write a bit about them here.

Full WordPress – integration
Right now the user system is seperate from the WordPress system. We would like to have it integrated fully into the WordPress system, so when you sign up as a user here on www.linklaunder.com, you automatically have a login for the LinkLaunder system, and can start communicating directly on the forum also. There are quite a few things that needs to be researched to achive this level of integration, and we are still investigating.

Integration with other platforms
The initial system is focused on self-hosted WordPress blogs, but the core server is set up to be open to any sort of communication. All communication is via webservices (SOAP). It means that the system can be set up to communicate with the Joomla platform, OsCommerce, basically any platform, both PHP and ASP.

Better intelligence
The core server stores information about every blogpost in the system, but the basic linking intelligence needs to be updated, this is for future versions, as we are focusing on getting version 1.0 out there!

What sort of features would you like to see? We love getting information from you!

This blog has just been upgraded to the latest version of Wordpress, due to a security issue and a few bug fixes.

This blog has just been upgraded to the latest version of WordPress, due to a security issue and a few bug fixes. From the WordPress blog:

The security issue is an XSS exploit discovered by Jeremias Reith that fortunately only affects IP-based virtual servers running on Apache 2.x. If you are interested only in the security fix, copy
wp-includes/feed.php
and
wp-includes/version.php
from the 2.6.5 release package.

2.6.5 contains three other small fixes in addition to the XSS fix. The first prevents accidentally saving post meta information to a revision. The second prevents XML-RPC from fetching incorrect post types. The third adds some user ID sanitization during bulk delete requests. For a list of changed files, consult the full changeset between 2.6.3 and 2.6.5.

Note that we are skipping version 2.6.4 and jumping from 2.6.3 to 2.6.5 to avoid confusion with a fake 2.6.4 release that made the rounds. There is not and never will be a version 2.6.4.

Question from a beta-tester: "How long does it take before my all my blog posts are fully indexed?"

A question was recently e-mailed by a beta-tester that asked how long it takes before the all blog posts on a site is indexed?

Answer:
It depends on the amount of visitors. After the plugin is installed and configured (inserting your username and password in the Settings-section of your WordPress install), the system starts indexing your blog.

Everytime a visitors goes to your website, a notice is sent to the LinkLaunder system. So, if you have a big blog, with few visitors, it might take some time, if you have a small blog with a lot of visitors, it will be very very quick.

Do not worry if it takes a little time, the whole process is set up to make sure the links that are assigned to and from your blog comes in randomly and little by little, to make it look more organic and natural.

If you have a small blog with few links, its important that you do not gain links too quickly, otherwise it can be a red flag in the eyes of the search engines.

If you have any questions, ask away in the Forum, and you can get help and knowledge from the developers or the other beta-testers.

Whenever I build a new Wordpress blog I am sure to install specific Wordpress plugins that make SEO (search engine optimization) easy.

By Eartha Haines

I am a niche junkie and use blogs to build niche web sites on a regular basis. Whenever I build a new WordPress blog I am sure to install specific WordPress plugins that make SEO (search engine optimization) easy. Search engines tend to favor blogs because they are constantly updated with new content which gives the bots something new to crawl. You can make search engines take notice of your blogs with the following plugins that I use each time I create a new blog.

All In One SEO Pack – Installing this plugin has made SEO so much easier. You can create separate search engine optimized titles for your posts as well as meta tag keywords and descriptions.

Sitemap Generator – Having a sitemap portrays your blog as a legitimate site. A sitemap not only makes it easier for your readers to find information but the search engines seem to like it as well.

Google XML Sitemap – This plugin is essential for ranking well in Google. If you use Google’s Webmasters tools then you know that submitting an XML sitemap makes it easier for Google to search your site. This plugin puts updating the sitemap on autopilot.

Photo Dropper – If you like adding photos to your posts, this plugin makes it super easy because it searches for photos on Flickr which fall under the creative commons license. You simply search for a photo related to your topic and it will place the photo directly in your post with credit text and a link back to Flickr.

Those are the main plugins that I am sure to install with any WordPress blog that I create. I find that my blogs are even indexed faster. I’m not sure if it’s due to the plugins but I’m sure they don’t hurt. You can find all of the plugins mentioned above by searching for them in any of the main search engines or by searching the various WordPress plugin directories.

Are you completely new to the web and looking to start a business online? Visit LeavingTheCube.com to learn the basics of web site building and when to quit your job to work for yourself!
