I have been working with the code for a little while now, and right now the focus is getting any and all bugs eliminated (not as easy as I thought) and then wait with adding the new functionality I have planned.

This post also marks the launch of the Statistics page, where I will add more information about the network itself. Right now there is only one chart on the page, but I am adding more gradually.

The nice chart is created using pChart, which I can highly recommend for any PHP-developers out there who needs to create nice looking graphs.

I have added the graph for the growth of the network for the past 15 days below.

Spring-cleaning – deleting inactive posts automatically

Hi everyone

Sorry for the delays for the past weeks even months. The financial crisis has hit me as well as mostly everyone, forcing me to focus on other projects.

Today, however, has so far been purely allocated to LinkLaunder, where I have so far updated several things, among others a cron job that automatically cleans inactive posts, and also cleans any links to that page from other blogs in the LinkLaunder network.

Any blogpost on your site that has not been in contact with the core server in over a month (30 days) will be automatically cleansed from the system along with any links currently pointing to it.

Version 0.92.1 Released

Hi everyone

This is just a minor version upgrade, hence I have moved away from the usual increments. However, the upgrade is relevant, as it clears errors that could show up if the Core Server was under a lot of stress. The version 0.92.1 ensures you will see no error messages on your blog, in those rare occasions they could show up.

When something goes wrong!

I have just added a new help-page to the users that have experienced problems with the LinkLaunder plugin.

So far we’ve only had one user report problems, but we want to make sure that we can help people as much as possible if something should go wrong.

So what was the problem, you ask? We really do not know, we got a request for assistance from a user, and after sending details to him he responded that he had solved it himself and recommended the two plugins which are listed on above help page.

If you have experienced problems, let us know so we can help fix problems.

More details in your statistics

I have just finished updating the statistics page, where you can now see more detailed statistics for your personal account.

You are now able to see each individual backlink in a list.

We are working hard on implementing the feature where you can decline a backlink. I could create a quick implementation, but I want to ensure it is tested properly and is as stable as possible. So, please hang tight.

Any comments about the new statistics page? Please don’t be shy, leave a comment or head on to the forum to discuss it further.

Server update: Cleaning inactive users/posts

I have just added some code to the core server to clean inactive users and posts. The procedure right now is manual, but will after a few trial runs be fully automated.

Sidenote: I just released version 0.92 with added stability.

New feature: Welcome e-mail

This is just a quick announcement, and is not really relevant to you excisting users.

I have added some code that automatically sends a welcome e-mail to users when their first blogpost is indexed. I added this since many users were unsure what was going on and this is the first step to help make it more clear.

Version 0.91 released

Version 0.91 which is available for download right now, contains a quick bugfix that was introduced in the last version. The bug was a minor one, and although the upgrade is recommended, it is not necessary.

Version 0.90 released

Being distributed right now is the latest version, 0.90 of the LinkLaunder Wordpress Plugin

The new release has several new features which makes it worth the download.

- Improved caching and speed
- CSS footprint has been removed
- Option to style the div layer
- Direct access to the settings from the plugin menu

New theme, new server, new plugin

New server
The linklaunder.com domain has been moved to a new server, as the system deserved a new location. The host is still Mediatemple, whom I can fully recommend for their speedy service and quick response. We are now hosted on a (dv) Dedicated Virtual server.

New theme
The move deserved a new theme, and unless you are reading this in your RSS feed reader, you should see the new design. It is based on the theme named ColdStone by ElegantThemes.

New plugin
As I am writing this, I am also putting the finishing touches on the next version of the Wordpress plugin, version 0.90. This new version has a LOT of new things added, so stay tuned for the release post where I will go into more detail what has been added.

We have passed the 50.000 indexed blogposts mark last night. The more users, the faster it goes.

A new forum has been installed, due to limitations in the previous forum software. Unfortuantely that means the previous posts have been removed. I have promised to see if I can implement them again.
